A revered landmark and symbol of style and sophistication since its opening in 1954, Fontainebleau Miami Beach exemplifies luxury in all facets. Offering unparalleled oceanfront luxury accommodations and dining and entertainment options for every taste and occasion, it comes as no surprise that the iconic beachfront resort has seen the likes of dignitaries, celebrities and the world’s elite for over 60 years.
Originally designed by famed architect Morris Lapidus, Fontainebleau continues to remain a pioneer of décor and design. Last year, Fontainebleau completed major renovations to its legendary Versailles Tower and iconic poolscape. Following a light and airy design theme, the design team at Jeffery Beers International updated the existing Versailles Bay View Junior Suites to meet the same redefined luxury of the building’s original architecture. Designers worked with the property to curate two entirely new room categories known as the Executive One Bedroom Suite and the Grand One Bedroom Suite. The resort also worked with Clausen-Collaborative Interior Design (CCID), the firm who remodeled the resort’s presidential suites, to refresh all 33 of its luxurious poolside cabanas.
The resort’s art collection is on par with some of the highest regarded contemporary art galleries around the globe. Following a $1 billion renovation and expansion in 2008, the hotel, under the direction of Jackie Soffer, has since cultivated a world class visual arts collection. Fontainebleau’s signature art includes James Turrell’s light installations, chandeliers by Ai Weiwei, sculptures by Yves Klein, ceramics by Mineo Mizuno, neon sculpture by Tracey Emin and paintings by Robert Rauschenberg and Darryl Pottorf. In addition to the aforementioned, contemporary works by Sol LeWitt and John Reynolds can be found in select guest rooms throughout the resort.
Fontainebleau houses restaurants from some of the world’s most critically-acclaimed chefs. The resort’s culinary portfolio is made up of 12 award-winning restaurants and lounges including StripSteak and Pizza & Burger by Michael Mina, and two AAA Four Diamond signature restaurants, Scarpetta by Scott Conant and Hakkasan. The resort constantly redefines standards for culinary and mixology programs within the luxury hotel space. This February, Fontainebleau introduced Sorso, a pop-up cocktail lab and infusion bar by Scott Conant. Sorso, features cocktails infused in a cold drip cocktail tower and lets guests create their own bespoke cocktail from house-infused spirits, shrubs and syrups.
Fontainebleau’s iconic poolscape is the place to see and be seen. Hotel guests and locals alike enjoy lounging in lavishly appointed cabanas complete with personal butler service, flat screen TV’s personal safe, flat screen TV, and more. Guests can hop from pool to pool, of which there are 8 in total. The bow tie pool is the main attraction, where you can find guests soaking up the sun and discussing their plans for the night or the next few days, but guests also enjoy the freedom of being able to hop from pool to pool, being able to escape to the resort’s Oasis pool for more privacy, the kids pool for family fun, or the Arkadia pool for adult time.
On the weekends, the Arkadia pool is turned into an adult-only poolside party scene with lively DJ and VIP cabanas where guests can enjoy bottle service and a menu with bites from Micheal Mina’s Pizza + Burger.
The resort is also home to a two-level wellness sanctuary, Lapis Spa. The two-level spa harnesses the natural qualities of water to create a shared experience that is both restorative and renewing. Mineral-rich waters in many forms - including mist, rain and steam - flow throughout the 40,000-square-foot spa, ensuring an experience that every bit restorative as it is relaxing. Lapis draws upon thermal therapies, the oldest spa treatments that transfer energy from heated elements of earth, water and air. Merging these age-old techniques with the latest contemporary technology and design, Lapis provides guests with stress-relief, anti-aging and wellness solutions - each a sensory experience designed to energize and rejuvenate. Spa interiors, treatments and programs are unexpectedly re-interpreted, creating an environment inspiring social engagement that is contemplative, pure and sophisticated.
Throughout its legacy, the iconic Fontainebleau has played stage for music legends including Frank Sinatra, who in his heyday had a permanent penthouse and residency at the resort, to pop icons such as Justin Bieber.
Today, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most sought-after entertainment destinations in the world playing host to some of the hottest musical acts around. The resort’s BleauLive performance series celebrates Fontainebleau’s history as an entertainment hub by hosting established and up and coming recording artists, from top 40 to classic rock. BleauLive moves beyond a traditional concert by crafting a fully immersive experience where, in addition to a unique show, fans are invited to amplify the concert with the Cocktail & Show Package and Pool Party & Show Packages.
The hotel is also home to the world-renowned LIV nightclub. One of Miami’s hottest clubs, LIV open its doors last fall after a major upgrade.
Whether you’re looking to relax and rejuvenate, splash around in the ocean and soak up some sun, or dance the night away, Fontainebleau Miami Beach has it all.
