Founded by artist and gallerist Richard Williamson in 2002, McKay Williamson connects clients with award-winning artists to create bespoke, deeply personal artworks from their most cherished memories.

McKay Williamson offers an alternative to the tired family portrait or photo book, instead, commissioning bold artworks that bring an intimate touch to an interior space. Each piece is a completely unique interpretation of a personal memory - from collages celebrating a special occasion to paintings of a person, place, or object which holds special meaning.

The creative studio works closely with a roster of respected fine artists including BP Portrait Award winners Paul Wright, Craig Whylie, and Mary Jane Ansell, hyperrealistic portrait painter Marco Grassi, mixed media artist Marco Battaglini and former President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Peter Wileman.

The bespoke quality of the artworks, alongside the broad variety of artist practices available, means that there is something for every taste and space.

For example, a frothy impasto painting from their artist Nushka adds to a relaxed, calm environment, perfect for the bedroom, whereas the artist Pam Glew’s statement portraits on dyed denim are a great way to make a statement and spark conversation with visiting guests in the living room.

The creative studio also offers curatorial services with their team of designers, that help to create gallery walls made up of the clients’ media displayed within bespoke frames or interchangeable tiles.

Richard Williamson says: “McKay Williamson redefines personal media, proving that it can be both meaningful and clever, both soulful and playful, and it can and should be a work of art. Our clients love to have a piece of art that holds both wonderful memories without losing the sophistication and beauty of the art. Bespoke work at this level is hard to come by.”
